We started the trip with a full day planned. Our first stop of the day was the natural history museum of London. We got there right when it opened so it wasn’t too too busy. You can seem most of the museum in 3 hours which is what we did. My favourite exhibits were, of course, the dinosaurs and they even had a special exhibit on that was specifically about the titanisaurs which I quite liked. The museum is pretty interactive which I always prefer, I can only look at things in glass cases for so long.

After the museum, we got a bit of lunch and then headed to the kensington gardens and palace which are close by. In traditional London fashion, it started to bucket rain while we were waiting in line to go into the palace, but fortunately we had our rain gear with us and didn’t have to wait too long. At the palace, in addition to the usual stuff about the people who have lived there over the years, they had a fashion exhibit on. It was pretty neat, they had lots of outfits that celebrities wore to various events as well as the historical royal equivalent. They even had a trunk of costumes for people to try on.

Our last, and by far most exciting activity of the day was something called the Mama Mia party experience. It was held at the O2 and was basically dinner and a show, all things Abba. The decor was amazing, set like we were in the little courtyard in the movie, and then over the course of our 4 course meal, they performed a musical with all Abba songs. The actors would move through the crowd in every number, and even our waiter was part of the show. They had lights and fire and water and acrobatics, really everything you could ask for. The food and wine were delicious and by then end of the night almost everyone was on their feet dancing and singing along with the cast.

All in all, today was a great start to the trip!
