October 9th – Zurich

We woke up this morning in Zurich after our sleep on the train. I wouldn’t say it was the most restful sleep I’ve ever had, but not any worse than being in a hostel. We were served a small breakfast in our car about a half hour before we arrived, and then we were in Zurich. We stored our luggage and then spent the morning and early afternoon wandering about in town. We are actually staying in Lucerne, which is about 45 minutes away, but since we couldn’t check into our hostel until 4pm anyway, there was no point in rushing over there. We did a walk in the park near the train station, and a little shopping.

Then we hopped on a regional train to get to the brunch that Shae had booked for us here. Everything in the boutique brunch restaurant we went to was pink, and I ate my brunch with a swing for a seat! We got the royal brunch for two, and we got so much food I had to waddle back to the train.

After our giant brunch, we went to see one of the many lakes in Zurich, and then picked up our luggage and made our way to the hostel. The view from our hostel is amazing, and being exhausted from the busy travel day, we just got some dinner, enjoyed the mountains, and turned in for the night.
