Today, Shae’s friend Hugo gave us a tour of the area where he lives, which is just outside of Annecy. First, Shae and I went to the farmers market that was happening in Annecy to pick up some goodies for a picnic lunch. We got 3 types of local cheese, two types of bread, some fruit and some nuts.

After our picnic, we went up a mountain via cable car. At the top, we could see Annecy and the surrounding towns, but also Geneva where we had just been!

We hiked up about 20 mins to see the very top of the mountain, and on our way up, we saw some paragliders taking off. At the top, we watched the many para/hang gliders that were out that day and then made our way back down.

We spent the rest of the afternoon touring around the small town where Hugo is from, but there’s not too much to see (hence small town).

It was super nice to meet Hugo, but we had to head back to the hostel pretty early because we had an early train to catch the next day. Next and last stop, Barcelona!
