Started the day off with a trip to Las Ramblas which is essentially one long outdoor street market. There are lots of stalls with food and drinks, souvenirs and chocolates, jewelry, etc. There’s also quite a few outdoor patio style restaurants that were serving huge drinks (like the size of my face, it was unreal). I elected for a chicken empanada and a pineapple coconut juice from one of the food stands which was quite tasty. I wandered up and down looking at all the stalls and enjoying the nice weather (it was a sunny 24°C here today and felt like summer). After that I decided to take a trip to Montjuïc Park. You can take a little cable car up to the higher parts of the park which give you a very nice view of the city.

Once at the top there’s lots to do but the castle is the first thing you see so I started with that. It’s not a castle in the sense that people used to live there in luxury, it was more for defense so it’s set up in a more military style. It was cool to walk through the halls and courtyards and up on the terrace you can see you over the water.

I would have like to do more at the park but I was feeling pretty tired out from all the walking and from travelling yesterday so I decided to head back to the hostel. Did get in a bit of Spanish practice today when ordering my food, the locals are very keen for you to use the language for the most part, even if you aren’t very good.
